Spanish Honors SocietySince my freshmen year I wanted to be part of the Spanish Honors Society club but I wasn't able to join the club until my senior year. As an official member of the Spanish Honors Society I was able to attend the opening ceremony and do community hours helping out people which is something I love to do. I also got to meet new people and made new friends and the most significant part of joining this club was meeting Mr. Gutierrez who is one of the people I look up to.

JV Soccer
I was an AVID student my freshman year. As an AVID student you are required to do sports and clubs and that's what I did. I didn't join any clubs my freshman year but I was able to join JV soccer. One of the things I really enjoyed while playing soccer is that we got to travel to different places. I also loved the idea of working as a team. I'm an independent student but I love working with other people outside of class.

Tutor
I took advantage of my ability with numbers and I became a math tutor. This is how I got many of the community hours that I have. I would stay after school during my sophomore and junior year to help out the people who were struggling with math. I was also a teacher's assistant during my junior year where I got to experience what is like to be a learning facilitator. I spent part of the class given lessons to Algebra 2 students.

Red zone
I used to be involved with sports before I got a job. I signed up for Red Zone because I wanted the McDermont membership. One of the requirements to receive the membership is to stay after school for at least an hour. I didn't realized how helpful that was until I started receiving extra help from some of my teachers. I would stay with them when I didn't fully understand a concept and that did not only put me on pace but ahead of pace. I also had the opportunity to complete level four projects and finish my homework.

REap |
|
I've been in REAP since my freshmen year. REAP is a scholarship program. Learners are able to receive money when they transfer to a four-year college. The only thing students are required to do is get level fours academically and life skills in their classes. This program doesn't only offer the students the opportunity to get money for college it also offers the opportunity to mentor elementary students. I decided to do this March 31st. Even though I still haven't done any mentoring it will be a great opportunity for me to interact with students and guide them.
